About Me!

Nice to meet you, I am Feralmoonlight, a twenty-something self-taught artist currently living somewhere in The Netherlands. I have been drawing since before I could walk and even at a young age, my drawings were pretty recognisable (even though most of them were suns with faces).

During my childhood, I slowly developed an own style, my characters all had typically egg-shaped faces and small round eyes. I learnt to differentiate through hair styles and clothing. After age 12, I became interested in anime and manga style art and would relentlessly copy the styles from various anime shows, such as Naruto and Bleach, until I settled into my own anime style. This was around the time where I was writing many elaborate stories as well, but writing didn't turn out to be my thing after all. In high school, I excelled in my art classes and began learning about anatomy, perspective and shading techniques.

Digital art was always familiar to me, my father owned a graphic design company and I would often tag along. I knew what Photoshop was by the time I was 10, and my father's employees were always happy to help me scan in my drawings and prep them so I could colour them in using the paintbucket tool. Later on, I was taught by my boyfriend to use the lasso tool to effectively cut out my lines and colour them black to make them more prominent. This is when I actively started to use digital media to colour my art. By the time I was 18, I bought my first digital drawing tablet and started experimenting with that. I have now been drawing digitally using a tablet for 10 years.

Art has always been a way for me to escape from the real world, where I wasn't always able to express or be myself. I have high-functioning autism and fibromyalgia and have been misunderstood a lot in my life. I am much better now and enjoying life with my dog and amazing boyfriend.

Aside from art, I work as a home caretaker for elderly and disabled people and really enjoy it. It's very gratifying work and I get to help others and make them happy, and that is kinda what I live for.

I have been doing commissions for a couple of years now and am really enjoying drawing for others, hearing their ideas and thoughts and bringing them to life. I should probably point out that I am not an artist with a particularly fast turn-around since I suffer from chronic fatigue due to my fibromyalgia, but I always finish what I start.

I hope that's enough info about me personally and I hope that you enjoy my website!
